Meditation is an umbrella term for a diverse array of practices. The therapeutic applications and mechanisms of certain practices, such as mindfulness, have been studied. The diversity of experiences linked to meditation has often not been accounted for by such research. The aim of this study is to look more closely at the different types of experiences linked to meditation, and how they relate to individual factors and meditation practice. This will lead to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying specific types of experience. The data from the online survey we will conduct, will inform the second half of this study looking at neural mechanisms using fMRI at BRIC.

A link to the online survey will be added soon.
